Question: I have been told that you can insert polyfill into the subwoofer box for more bass. I am just wondering if i add polyfill what improvements will i actually gain and should i use it?
What Does Polyfill do in a Sub box?
Answer: Polyfill is a white fluffy stuffing that similar to whats used inside a pillow, however its a bit more thicker. Its made from polyester fiber and can be used inside a subwoofer box to add more depth. With the correct amount, you can reduce the amount of boomy or peaky sounding bass. If you are happy with the sound then it is pointless considering it though. Most people notice that the bass sounds more deeper, tighter and thundery and not the duff duff like it was before without adding any. You have to play around with it though for achieving the best sounding results and add more or take some out to find out how much you need to add.
