How To Format PS2 Hard Drive HDD

You can format the hard disk drive HDD that you have connected into your PS2 expansion bay slot if you want. This is ideal if you want to remove all the games and other relevant data from it in one attempt. Since it will be much more easier and less time consuming to go through the entire list.

1) Remove the hard drive and connect it to your PC directly using an free IDE cable that is connected to the computers motherboard.

2)  Download and run WinHIIP on your PC.

3) Select your hard drive from the list in the user interface.

4)  Select 'Format Drive' Then select the 'Full' erase mode option this will remove every sector.

5) It will inform you onscreen when it has been completed. You can see the percentage bar to see how far its got with making progress and the time remaining can then be estimated.
